“On a beautiful September afternoon in our backyard, our beloved dog, Quinn, transitioned to The Rainbow Bridge, under the compassionate care of Dr. Jen. His soul departed peacefully and easily and we were comforted knowing our sweet boy was in his favorite place, surrounded by love and no longer suffering. While our hearts are absolutely broken, there is great solace knowing he passed away with love and dignity. It was our final act of kindness to a dog that brought us so much love and joy. We are most grateful for your services.”
Maureen & Dave, St. Charles
“One of the hardest things we ever had to do was to say goodbye to our dog, Lucky. We had heard about Peaceful Endings from a friend and when we knew it was time, we called. As these things sometimes go, we didn’t have much time to prepare. We called on a Monday to schedule an appointment for the next day which they were able to accommodate. The person we talked to on the phone was very compassionate and let us know what to expect. When Dr. Jen arrived at our house on Tuesday morning, Lucky immediately felt comfortable with her and so did we. Dr. Jen was amazing. She was so extremely kind, warm and empathetic to Lucky and to us. She let us take our time saying our good-byes and made us feel comfortable showing our emotions. While we were overcome with sadness, it meant so much to us that Lucky was able to pass peacefully in his home on his bed. It was a blessing that Dr. Jen made this possible. It was also so nice that you gave us Lucky’s clay paw print as well as the follow-up call and card.
Words cannot convey the feelings we had and how grateful we are for Dr. Jen and Peaceful Endings. Thank you for giving us peace during Lucky’s last hours. We will never forget that and will always be grateful to you. We will highly recommend you to anyone who finds themselves in this situation.”
Ainslie, Arlington Heights
“Kari…
I don’t know how you do this with such patience, professionalism, and compassion. You were so great during his hospice care that we provided him over the last few months, but when his tail stopped wagging we knew it was time. He was comfortable, and it was so painless and peaceful. He came to this forever home and went to his final forever home in the best way possible. We did not have to do that stressful final trip to the vet. Having done that multiple times in the past, I know it was a better experience for him and us. Kim and I thank you from the bottom of our broken hearts. You are truly a blessing and we can’t say THANK YOU enough!”
Brian, Aurora IL
“I can’t begin to tell you the kindness and peace I felt when you were here with me on Emma’s last day. You took the time to look at my cat’s x-Rays to know exactly what was going on. You made absolute sure that I was ready to put Emma down that day. Although someone can never be ready for that difficult situation, you sat with me and comforted me. You explained the process and what was going to happen and I really appreciated knowing that. You were even kind enough to check in with me after that dreadful day. I will definitely tell people about you. As a matter of fact, I already have. Thank you again for everything.”
Jennifer, Chicago
“Dr. Trotsky is a fantastic doctor, but also a great person. I suggest anyone in need of her professional services, seek her out!!”
Faisal, Bloomingdale
“Dr. Trotsky is a very compassionate person. I have heard personally how she makes her clients at ease with one of the toughest decisions they can make about their furry family members. I work with a rescue group and unfortunately one of our rescues had to be euthanized. The family who had adopted her called Dr. Trotsky because they wanted their dog to pass peacefully in their home. Afterwards they mentioned how pleased they were with Dr. Trotsky.”
Kristin, Montgomery
“Dr. Trotsky is one of the most patient and caring veterinarians I know, and she handles every euthanasia as if it were her own beloved pet.”
Margaret, Aurora
“Dr. Trotsky, My family and I would like to thank you for your services in the passing of our dear Rosita. We cannot thank you enough for your professionalism but most of all for your compassion. You made what was already a very difficult and sad time a little less painful because we know that she went peacefully. God bless you and thank you once again.”
Claudia, Berwyn
“Dr. Trotsky, there are no words to express how thankful I am for your help in making my farewell to Dakota as peaceful & beautiful as possible. From the time you arrived until you departed you were completely professional but genuinely caring. The clay paw print you made is so special to me. It was something I’d planned to do on my own, but such a blessing to find out you would provide it. I also received your card in the mail and am blown away by your thoughtfulness. Thank you for your time, patience & tenderness during such a difficult time.”
Aubrey, Westmont
“Thank you Dr Kari, for helping us, coming to our home and giving Zeus such a peaceful last breath. If we can ever do anything to help you please let us know.”
Melissa, Schaumburg
“Dear Dr. Trotsky,
My name is Amber and this past Saturday you came to my mom’s house to help with my baby Peka’s final journey in this world. I spent my weekend quite inconsolable and incapable of coherent thoughts, so I apologize that I am only writing to you now. You have definitely been on my mind. I want to thank you for being a part of Peka’s last minutes. I want to thank you for doing such a great job that I know my baby felt no pain. I want to thank you for your patience with my not wanting to let him go and my hysterical reaction once he had truly passed. I want to thank you for being so kind and comforting and for letting me hug you when it was all over, though I am a complete stranger. I didn’t feel like I had a stranger in my home…I felt like you were family for that brief amount of time.I want you to know that I spent hours researching in home services for this procedure once my husband (Josh) and I knew this was the end for Peka. When I came to your page, I instantly felt in my gut that you were the right person. Josh and I are not religious people at all, but we feel truly blessed to have found you and to have had you with us. We feel grateful for and humbled by your work. Personally, I honestly don’t know how you do your job. I bow before you…for your strength and your compassion to be there for families in this way over and over again.
I am re-reading my words to you now and they truly don’t do any justice in expressing the level of gratitude I feel towards you right now. I wish I was a better writer so I could capture my own emotions more thoroughly and eloquently, but I’m afraid I’ve never been a great writer. My sister got that gene. 🙂 So thank you, thank you, and thank you again. You are amazing and I find peace in knowing how well you took care of my baby and sent him off to whatever it is that awaits us all once this life has passed.”
Amber, Lombard
“The clay finally dried and a sweet print left behind. If you are ever in the horrible place where you have to put your beloved pet to sleep, I pray you have access to a vet who will come to you. It was so nice that I didn’t have to move my kitty from his favorite spot. She was also kind enough to make the print for me to have. What a wonderful person to have around during such a difficult time. If you don’t have pets you probably think this is crazy, if you do you totally understand Thank you, Peaceful Endings!”
Rachel, Chicago
“(Our) family would like to take this opportunity to thank you for assisting us with the difficult task of putting our beloved Gunnar to rest. You treated us with the utmost of kindness and compassion at a very difficult time. Gunnar was a part of our lives for 14 years and we loved him so very much. You allowed us to peacefully put him to rest under his favorite tree in the backyard which made that difficult decision seem so meaningful. Peaceful Endings is a wonderful way to pay tribute to a beloved pet and we again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Debbie, Homer Glen
“My husband Ryan and I just wanted to sincerely thank you for making Ben’s passing as calm and peaceful as you did. It was really quite amazing how he did just “slip away” as you stated. I also wanted to let you know I appreciate how at ease you made me feel, and I was able to let my emotions out the way I needed to. It is an enormous loss to all of us, but Ben was my special boy, we were around each other 24/7, and there was a bond there that will never be broken. He was like a child to me, as all my dogs and cat are. I cry everyday still, but everyday I grow more at peace with the timing and being there with him in his home for such a peaceful send off to doggie heaven. It was also very much appreciated that you brought his ashes to us, as that would have been another traumatic experience to get them.
I have two other senior dogs, one that is possibly showing signs of congestive heart failure and another that is healthy but over weight. They are all 6 months apart so there is more sadness coming our way, but we know we will be asking for you again and referring you to others we know.
Thank you again for everything, I apologize for having to walk out before you left, that part I just couldn’t watch. But I wanted to thank you then and when you brought the ashes, I was just overcome with sadness. I think what you do for people and for animals is an amazing thing that brings a positive experience to all involved. I know Ben thanks you too. :)”
Carrie, Romeoville
Dear Dr Kari Trotsky, I never thought I would send this kind of Thank you note but I want to try to express to you my feelings of gratitude for your compassion, understanding and professionalism during one of the worst days of my life. My precious Luke was so much more than a family pet and I couldn’t imagine having to say goodbye to him in an animal hospital and having our last moments together in a cold, strange room with loud noises and weird smells. I never even knew there were Vets out there who would come to our home and we were able to make everything so calm and peaceful and I will cherish those memories of holding my friend while soft music played (which he loved) and his family around him while he ate his favorite treat. (Frosty Paws ice cream) I know he had a Peaceful Ending and I want to Thank you for what you do. Although I miss him tremendously everyday I know he is now at rest and comfortable. Please feel free to share this and these pictures of my beautiful Luke.
Carol, Lisle
“I wanted to write and thank you for your compassion and professionalism with our dog, Beau. We are so thankful for your service to make a very difficult situation a little more comfortable for all involved. As hard as it was, I am so thankful to have been with Beau-Beau and loving on him until he passed.”
Mimi, Bolingbrook
“I wanted to extend a warm thank you from my family. As difficult and sad as it was to lose Lloyd, the way we were able to do it through Peaceful Endings brought us much comfort. Thank you for providing this service.”
Eileen, River Forest
“I just wanted to thank you for what you did for Klondike today. I had to leave because I couldn’t handle seeing him go but I know this was a much better alternative than watching him suffer or bringing him to a vet where he would be scared.”
Michelle, Burbank
“Although we are still mourning the loss of our sweet felicity, I wanted to let you know what a true gift you gave us by letting her pass at home with her family…in my lap. You are truly a special person and we just cannot thank you enough for the compassionate care you offered both us and our beloved feline family member. To say ‘thank you’ just does not seem enough.”
Leah, Chicago
“Thank you for helping Marten cross from his spot on the couch over the rainbow bridge. Our entire family truly appreciates your compassionate care.”
Aileen, Oak Lawn
“I will miss my sweet Cleo so much. Dr. Trotsky was so gentle and caring doing this difficult time. I’m so glad I made the decision to call her. Sweet dreams my precious angel.”
Carol, Mokena
“I loved my dog, Duke, so very much and I was so happy that you gave him such a peaceful, loving exit. He hated visiting the vet when he was well and it would have been so emotionally and physically painful for me and him to transport him to a clinic. Duke’s last memories are of home, comfort, and love. My sadness is overwhelmed by happy memories. Thank you very much.”
Ann, Chicago
“Thank you so much Dr. Kari, I know Froggy would thank you too with a big kiss to the face! You helped make such a painful time easier. I cannot be grateful enough to you and how you helped our family say goodbye to our darling girl. I miss her terribly but am relived she could go so,peacefully and dignified. Thank you thank you thank you.”
Amber, Algonquin
“Thank you again for making Santiago’s passing so much more full of love and comfort than the alternative. It was very hard and emotional and traumatic of course – but having him in my arms on his chair made me feel a little better than a cold sterile vet office. At least he was where he loved to be. And your presence was so comforting and calming. Thank you thank you.”
Jennifer, Chicago
“Once again, I would like to thank you for being there to support us in our time of need. It was an agonizing phone call when I made it, but one that I know deep down was the right call. My family and I appreciated your compassion and professionalism during a difficult time. We know that our dear Leini went to sleep peacefully and in a familiar place. As we struggle with adjusting to life without her, we find comfort in knowing we were with her to the end. God bless.”
Elmhurst
“We wanted to thank you for the kindness, compassion and professionalism you shared with us today. We are so very thankful that we had an option like Peaceful Endings for Sam. Thank you for making a day we have been dreading, just a bit less difficult….we are appreciative.”
Dave and Julie, Plainfield
“I wanted to once again Thank you for helping Duffy to the rainbow bridge. We probably weren’t at our best when you were here, but your service was very much appreciated. I think that was so much better for Duffy to be surrounded by the people who loved him and the people that he loved and it made his passing easier. I know he is in a better place now and back to doing all the doggie things he loved doing and wasn’t able to do any more.”
Ed, LaGrange Park
“Thank you so very much for caring for our boy Eli at the end. You came quickly on a Sunday when it was clear that our beloved pet was in pain. You treated him with the utmost respect and dignity and care. We were blessed with Eli’s long life and blessed in the end knowing that you cared for him so well as he passed.”
Anne, Chicago
“I just wanted to say thank you again for the services you performed for bandit and thanks for the card. He meant so much to me, and being able to have this done in my yard with him was truly amazing for us both. For that experience, I wanted to just extend another personal thanks for making the minutes of my dogs life very special for me. Thanks for what you do, it means alot.”
Tim, Warrenville
“Just wanted to thank you for providing the option of allowing Rudy to pass at home on his blanket in his favorite chair. You were very kind and caring. I really appreciated that. Extremely thoughtful of you to make and give to us the imprint of Rudy’s little paw. We will miss him always.”
Jan and Jory, St. Charles
“You helped my mother and I with Brody last week. I wanted to extend my thanks for your tremendous help during a very difficult time. We received the card you sent and it was very thoughtful.
I knew I didn’t want Brody’s final moments to involve the stress of going to the vet’s office, but I was unsure about how comfortable I would be in inviting a complete stranger inside to witness me at my most vulnerable. You did a wonderful job about both being clear about the steps of the procedure and also being unobstrusive while we were saying goodbye.
It’s been a really rough week, but I am so thankful that my best friend went in the most peaceful way that he could have. Thank you. All the best.”
Eric, Lisle
“Dr.Trotsky, I want to Thank you again for giving Elwood and my family his Peaceful Ending. Woody, as we sometimes called him, was the best dog. We had him for 13+ wonderful years, he was a well loved member of our family. And this service you provide is amazing, I will recommend you to anyone who finds themselves needing you.”
Deb, Carol Stream
“Dr. Trotsky came to my parents’ house last week to put down their dog of 14 years, Sally. Sally was a part of our little family and it was wonderful to be able to spend our last moments with her in her own home. Upon arrival, Dr. Trotsky was very professional, calm, and compassionate, allowing us to say our goodbyes without feeling rushed. She explained the procedure, told us what to expect, and waited until we were ready to let her go. While very sad, the whole experience was tranquil and Sally drifted off peacefully to wherever it is dogs go when they die. The paw print she made on-site was a nice memorial to our beloved canine friend. I would highly recommend Dr. Trotsky’s services to anyone looking to avoid the extra stress involved with transporting a dying animal to a veterinarian’s office during their final moments and who wants their pet to have a painless, comfortable passing surrounded by love.”
Pete, Jane, Greg, and Matt, Evergreen Park
“I worked with Dr. Trotsky 5 years I saw how much she cares for animals. She always makes sure that the owners of the animals understand that they are making the best choice for their pets. She is a pet owner herself so she understands that pets are family. Once you meet her you can see for yourself that she is very caring.”
Heather, Glen Ellyn
“Thank you for making a very difficult day one that left me with peace in my heart. Lucky 2000-2013”
Jeanette, Chicago
“Dr. Trotsky, we wanted to let you know how much we appreciated your kind & gentle handling when we said goodbye to Clayton. It was so nice for him to be at home, & to get to meet “one more friend” on his way out. Thank you very much for making such a hard thing go smoothly & peacefully. The card you sent was very kind, thank you. The paw print turns out to be something more important to me than I thought it would be, that is a very nice touch.”
Ingrid, Bolingbrook
“Thank you so much for making a very difficult time easier for our family. You do a great service for people as well as animals. A very nice touch providing us with the memory of a paw print, lock of his fur, and a beautiful card. Thank you from all of us”
Paula, New Lenox
“Dear Dr. Trotsky, I cannot thank you enough. Your calm, thoughtful, and kind manner helped me through a very emotional situation. Your sweet card helped the grieving process and I love the imprint of Gibbon’s paw. It is such a nice reminder of the wonderful cat he was. I am forever grateful.
Lisa, Chicago

Dave, St. Charles
“Doctor, you were at our home on Friday morning. I just wanted to say thank you for letting our family see our furry friend, Lucky, go to sleep so peacefully.”
Hector, Chicago
“Dr. Trotsky is the best veterinarian I have ever worked with. She has very high values and stands firm in them. She not only looks out for the pets best interest but looks out for the pet owners best interest as well. She has a Strong compassion for not only the pet being treated but for the owner as well. I would recommend Dr. Trotsky to anyone and everyone who has a pet. Making the decision to put your pet down is one of the hardest decisions in life and I can guarantee that Dr. Trotsky will be there for you and your pet 100 percent. She is very honest and will tell you if euthanasia isn’t the best thing for your pet at this time. At the same time she isn’t judgmental in any way, shape or form and I promise you that going through this experience with her is the most peaceful way to do this for both you and your pet.”
